Vemal likens ‘Manjapai’ to director Fazil’s classic film ‘Poove Poochudava’ in which veteran actress Padmini and Nadhiya acted as grandmother and granddaughter. He assures that the film will make a viewer remember his/her grandfather.

Vemal has also revealed his decision to act in scripts that suit his ability, which means he will henceforth act only in rural subjects and urban subjects set in a middle class milieu. He admits that people do not accept him in sophisticated and stylish roles.
