Being well versed and quite at ease with rural roles, actor Vemal is donning a similar role in his upcoming film, 'Desingu Raja' directed by Ezhil. In the film, Vemal plays the role of an ardent MGR fan, working in a fruit shop and his name is Ithayakani on screen.

The film will soon be wrapping up the shooting with only a few schedules pending. The team is heading to Kancheepuram to shoot at a famous temple. The film will predominantly be canned in Kumbakonam, Thanjavur and Chennai. As noticed and reported by everyone, Vemal is at ease in the rural role and everyone believes that this is his forte, rather than urban characters. The actor is enjoying the shooting, playing as a die-hard fan of the legendary actor MGR.
