Leading Bollywood heroine Vidya Balan is also an avid social worker and she was recently in Lucknow to participate in an event in her capacity as the brand ambassador for National Sanitation.

Speaking at the event one of the dignitaries Swami Chidanand Saraswathi addressed Vidya Balan as Shauchalaya ki devi` (goddess of toilets). Reacting to this later an unfazed Vidya Balan said that in India being called a goddess is a boon even though the temple for herself is the toilet.
