The handsome and macho Vidyut Jamwal easily managed to win over the rough and tough Indian army. The actor, who was on a promotional tour for his film 'Commando', recently visited the training centre at Banaras, 39 GTC.

In 'Commando', Vidyut plays the title role and since the role of the actor has a strong connect with an army officer, the actor wanted to witness the training of our very own India soldiers at the camp itself.

Once there, Vidyut sportily took part in several activities which were actually performed by the jawans. During his stay at the camp, Vidyut attended a brief session by the army officers as to how a soldier defends himself or prepares for an attack with his enemies.

Next Vidyut himself indulged in this rigorous training and performed the 26 obstacle training which a soldier performs during his training. Interestingly, the actor performed all the 26 obstacles which included rock climbing, rope climbing, walking the Burma Bridge.. all these within a very short span of time.

The major, who was present during the session, was sheer impressed by the actor’s strength and energy. Even the soldiers present at the training shared the same opinion. The Indian military said to have been quite happy with Vidyut’s visit to the centre.

Recalling the whole experience, an elated Vidyut remarked, "The welcome I got when I visited the jawans from the Gorkha regiment in Benaras a couple of days ago, was just to fantastic. They hugged me and my team and were telling us how much they liked the trailer and the action sequences in it. And now that they've watched the film, they were very proud that someone who's in a way one of them has been able to honestly representation of their life and journey. I am very humbled by their feedback. They are the real action heroes!"

As a matter of fact, the training centre, 39 GTC, is out of bounds for civilians and since Vidyut's father was in the Indian army, the actor managed to get permissions for this visit.

Directed by Dilip Ghosh and produced by Vipul Shah, ‘Commando’ has Pooja Chopra as the female lead.
