Vijay Mallya arrested in London

Liquor baron Vijay Mallya has been arrested in London in connection to Money Laundering case. The fugitive business man has been wanted by Indian Government for loan default case where he is said to be defaulting loans worth Rs.9000 crores to Indian banks.

He will be presented before Westminster magistrates court for a hearing very soon. The CBI has recently found that the absconding businessman has diverted a major share of Rs.6000 crore of the loan money to his vented interests across different countries and are looking to present as evidence in the case. India has been pressing to England for an extradition request from February as per the extradition treaty between India – England.
