We have been reporting the box office records created by Ilayathalapathy Vijay starrer 'Theri' in various quarters of the world. Yesterday we had reported that the Atlee directed family entertainer has grossed around Rs.47 crores in Tamil Nadu alone in its first week. The film is also making phenomenal waves in the box offices of the overseas locations such as Malaysia, USA, UK and Australia.

Now we bring a historic record created by 'Theri'. Trade sources confirm that the film has joined the prestigious 100 Crore club within its first six days. This means the overall collections made by the film across the world has crossed Rs.100 crores in just six days.

Actor Vijay's verified Twitter account has tweeted a poster claiming that 'Theri' has collected Rs.100 crores in six days and that is more than a reliable proof.

This is a new record not only for a Vijay film but even for a Tamil film. Hardly any film has touched the 100 crore mark within this short period. It took 14 days for Vijay's earlier blockbuster 'Kaththi' to collect 100 crores worldwide.

With this Atlee joins the elite 100 crore club and he is the youngest to join this proud and precious league of directors that includes big names like Shankar and A.R.Murugadoss.
