Vijay's 'Theri' creates a new record in a prominent Chennai Multiplex

As we have been reporting in our weekly box office collection report, Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 'Theri' has emerged as a blockbuster and its performance in Chennai is rock solid even after many weeks of release. The Atlee directed flick's collection in Chennai box office has crossed a whopping eleven crores and still running with a good occupancy rate in theaters across the city.

Now we have an interesting update about the record created by 'Theri' in a particular multiplex chain in Chennai. Official update from SPI Cinemas, confirm that the film has crossed as many as 1,400 shows on its 40th day of theatrical run in Chennai on Monday this week (This includes the shows in S2 Theyagaraja in Thiruvanmiyur).

This is a new record in number of days and number of shows for a Tamil film in the screens of SPI multiplex This adds up as yet another remarkable feat achieved Ilayathalapathy VIjay's grand summer treat 'Theri'.

'Theri' has been produced by Kalaipuli.S.Thanu. The film stars Vijay, Samantha and Amy Jackson in lead roles.
