Indiaglitz was one of the first to inform that Ilayathalapathy Vijay plays an MGR fan in his upcoming film 'Theri' directed by Atlee. From the teaser of the film that released at 12 am today it looks like there is more MGR connection in 'Theri'.

Vijay plays a police officer in the film and the large focus of the 50 seconds long teaser is on this aspect of the film. At the end of the teaser Vijay walks amid a group of goondas apparently the crime accused, with a stick in hand. The scene takes place in a school class room with black board. benches, desks and charts pasted on walls. We could guess that Vijay educates the illiterate or less literate criminals as a method to reform them. This guess gets more credibility as Atlee in an interview had stated that Vijay plays an emotional and humane cop in the film.

In his 1975 super hit film, 'Pallandu Vaazga' MGR acted as a Jail Warden who takes a bunch of prison inmates to his home and educates them about Thirukural and other ancient ethical texts in Tamil to reform the criminals.

Vijay's character in Theri getting inspired by an MGR film and trying that in his life in Theri. Sounds interesting right?

We will have to wait until April 14, 2016 to see how this happens in the film.
