The news that has left Kollywood in utter shock is that of the fairy tale romance between director Vijay and Amala Paul falling apart. Though the Thalaivaa` director and heroine have maintained silence about the raging news about a divorce, Vijay`s father has confirmed that the two are splitting.
Vijay`s father A.L. Azhagappan speaking to a leading TV channel has said that the Amala Paul had promised that she would quit acting when the marriage happened, but went back on her words and started acting in Malayalam as well as Tamil. Repeated requests from them went unheeded and most recently Amala has signed a couple of Malayalam films and Dhanush`s trilogy Vada Chennai`. He also let out that Amala`s parents too had tried to coax her to stop acting and settle down into family life but she refused to listen to them too. Azhagappan finished off by saying that Amala and Vijay will amicably part ways.
