Remember Ponnusamy, an assistant director who posed a hurdle to the release of 'Thaandavam', alleging that he was the original owner of its story.

A compromise formula has been worked out between Ponnusamy and director Vijay, as per which the latter will produce a movie to be directed by the former.

"This solution was arrived at a meeting chaired by veterans of the industry. This is to ensure the free-run of Thaandavam, besides protecting the interests of Ponnusamy," sources said.

However, a formal announcement is yet to come out from both the parties. It is to be noted that producing movies is not something new to Vijay, as his father A L Alagappan is a noted producer.
