Vimala Raman was the most promising new face when she was introduced in ÂPoi by director K. Balachandr. But she got her second Tamil film only after two years in ÂRaman Thediya SeethaiÂ. But the girl from Sydney is doing pretty well in other south Indian languages. She is even part of the current sensation in Karnataka ÂAptha Rakshaka which is shattering all the previous box office records in Kannada.
Now Vimala Raman has been signed for an English film called ÂDame 999Â. She plays a native as an Indian Malayalee girl who falls in love with an English man. Speaking the language is not a problem as she was brought up in Australia and the crew will also be mostly Indians, that will make her even more comfortable.
