IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, November 21, 2012]

Madhuri Dixit with Karishma Kapoor. Madhuri with Aishwarya Rai. Madhuri with Manisha Koirala". Wondering where this is leading to? Well read on then...

Our Dhak Dhak talent house Madhuri Dixit would have shared the frame with other remarkable actresses in the course of her career. However it's only now that Mrs.

Nene is going to act alongside with her contemporary Juhi Chawla - yet another smiling beauty who had been on par with Madhuri during their young days in eighties and nineties.

These two charming and Queen of hearts who then had ruled the industry, will now come together on one screen for filmmaker Anubhav Sinha for his forthcoming women-centric film 'Gulab Gang'.

Initially Sinha had signed in Dixit for the project after which he was looking for someone who can give a striking performance on par with the actress. And of late Sinha brought in Juhi on board.

Talking about the casting in an interview, Sinha shared two reasons for roping in Madhuri and Juhi - one, it was a creative decision for which entire team gave a positive nod and second it would be simply great to see such two iconic stars together in a film. "I couldn't have pulled off a better cast than the two most iconic female stars, Madhuri and Juhi, together for the first time on Indian screen," quoted Sinha.

'Gulab Gang' is set against the backdrop of rural India and so keep in tune with the storyline, both Madhuri and Juhi will be seen in a de-glam and rustic avatars in this one.

To be directed by Soumik Sen, 'Gulab Gang' will also feature Mahie Gill and Shilpa Shukla. As a matter of fact, the film is inspired from Sampat Pal's organisation Gulabi Gang based in Bundelkhand (UP) that fights for the rights of women in the region.
