Regardless of what happens on her many a film assignment, Mallika Sherawat has stayed on to be a darling with media when it comes to making headlines.

It may be a party appearance with none other than the President of the United States or her various international dos but Mallika believes that it is all worth it at the end of the day.

"Exactly", she says, "It is no mean achievement to be hobnobbing with the Presidents of different countries or to share a common platform with some global screen legends. It may be for a short time but then surprisingly our own people sometimes discount the fact that I have at least made it there."

She wonders, "I have no clue why we love to rub each other down instead of applauding ourselves for that little step taken towards a larger platform. Yes, at times it does disturb me when I see such trends but then in a while I just let it all go. This is the reason why I love the fact that Frieda Pinto has managed to achieve so much. Hats off to her."

Getting nostalgic all over again, she adds, "When I look back at the years gone by, I think it is highly rewarding where I am today.

To come from this ultra conservative male dominated society of Haryana, how much of the chance does a girl have to step into Bollywood which is dominated by Khans and Kapoors? I guess it is sheer audacity to even dream, leave aside making a decent mark for you."

She is dreaming big when it comes to her future plans.

"Now I want to do good for girls coming from my state. Who knows, I may even open a school tomorrow", hints Mallika before signing off.

Here is looking forward to Mallika indeed realising her dreams in years to come.
