Celebrating the 100 years of Hindi Cinema, ‘Bombay Talkies’ by four eminent filmmakers is an anthology of four short films capturing the different flavours of our films.. While the trailers have got instant thumbs up, several wonder what’s role of the gorgeous Katrina Kaif in this venture..

That’s when our reliable sources found out that Zoya Akhtar's film is about an innocent school boy who wants to be like Katrina Kaif and how he imitates her. He dances his heart out on the song, "Sheila Ki Jawaani" at all times.

Little does anyone know is that Zoya has actually come across a kid who is fascinated with Katrina to the level of obsession. Our sources further revealed that the filmmaker-writer met this boy a few years ago at a social gathering.

The ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ director was touched and at the same time saddened by this. However, it was a memory she carried with her. So when the opportunity to direct ‘Bombay Talkies’ came up to her, this was the only story she thought of presenting.

Said a source close to Zoya, "It was an incident which touched Zoya's heart. She carried it with herself for more than two years and when she was approached to direct a short film she thought this story would be ideal. It’s a story she wanted to share with the audiences."

Just as Zoya was moved by the boy she met, her short film is also very heartening, they say. She has essentially drawn characteristics of her film from a real kid.

‘Bombay Talkies’ is slated to release on 3rd May 2013.
