Exactly a year back a small unassuming film called 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' had hit the screens without much fanfare. A non-starry affair, it opened on a very poor note (it's collections were a mere 10%-20% on the opening day) but turned into a rage by the time weekend came to a close. The weekdays stayed on to be strong as well and the rest was history, what with the film attaing cult status during the year gone by.

Circa 2012 and the makers of 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' are following the similar promotional, placement and release strategy with 'Bittoo Boss'. Yet again the focus is on content which means it would be word of mouth that would do the talking again. Marking the debut of Pulkit Samrat (as the leading man) and Babul (as the director), the film has seen its fair share of controversies during the last couple of months which means there is a definite awareness around the film. However from the opening standpoint, it would be a wait and watch approach since such films require audience to endorse them.

Due to this reason, this Abhishek Pathak production may well form the pattern of 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama', albeit with better opening numbers, by registering anywhere around 30%-40% footfalls. That should be good enough for the film to find a breathing space for itself since the actual content, as per insiders, is quite shocking and is leagues away from the perceived influences from the likes of 'Band Baaja Baaraat' or 'Bunty aur Babli'.

On the other hand there is a small film titled 'Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein' which is releasing alongside as well. With Anupam Kher and Sachin Khedekar in the lead, this light hearted film is releasing sans any publicity and the first major milestone for it would be to get an all-India release, leave aside expecting an opening weekend that would help it register its place in the audience's heart.
