Kunal Khemu may well be thanking his stars that his small unassuming film like 'Blood Money' has ended up being a plus affair for all involved. In fact after 'Paan Singh Tomar', this Bhatt production has turned out to be yet another surprise earner of the year as expectations were bare minimum for it to run. Of course, unlike the Irrfan Khan starrer the film hasn't seen much media coverage. Also, it would be a huge struggle for the collections to reach the 14 crores mark (achieved by 'Paan Singh Tomar'). Still, the very fact that it ended up netting close to 9 crores is a reason to rejoice.

With the coverage status in it's kitty, the film would be gaining everything as a bonus for itself. If it actually manages to cross the 12 crore mark, it would be some good return on investment for Bhatts who would be happy to gain more than what even they would have expected.

For Kunal, this is incidentally a hat trick of successes, what with his last two films 'Golmaal 3' (superhit) and '99' (average) being plus affairs as well. Also, in the form of Vishal Mahadkar, Bhatts now have one more director to rely upon in addition to the likes of Mohit Suri and Kunal Deshmukh.

On the other hand there was no such luck for 'Bumboo' as this nonsensical film totally disappeared into oblivion with hardly any notable collections to boast of.
