Lalu Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) was furious after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raids on him and his family. He accused the Prime Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah for trying to break the unity of the Opposition.

The CBI searched 12 locations across Delhi, Gurgaon and Patna, in relation to a hotel maintenance contract awarded by the former Railway Minister during his tenure. Lalu said, "The decision on handing over hotels was taken before I took over as the railway minister" and that he had asked his family to cooperate, given that he was scot-free.

An angry Lalu vowed to break the arrogance of the PM and Amit Shah` before he is hanged. He added that he would kill the bedbugs, speaking about BJP leaders, with a "janta ki dawai" (medicine of the people).
