A year ago Anurag Kashyap had made a few controversial remarks about how Bachchans had apparently conspired to release 'Khelien Hum Jee Jaan Sey' before Manoj Bajpayee starrer 'Chittagong' even though the latter was completed first. Now the maverick filmmaker has a new mission in hand as he would be pairing up with none other than Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra to ensure that 'Chittagong' eventually hits the marquee.

Informs a source, "Yes, Anurag had seen 'Chittagong' long back and he was convinced that it boasted of great cinemative excellence. He was like a pillar of support for both Manoj and producer/director Bedabrato Pain and always assured them never to lose hope."

Incidentally for Bajpayee it is pretty much a double whammy in the offering here. While he is already working with Anurag on 'Gangs of Wasseypur', with Rakeysh he enjoyed an association way back with 'Aks'.

On the other hand Rakeysh has been loyal to Bachchans as well, case in point being 'Aks' (with Big B) and 'Delhi 6' (with Abhishek). With this association taking place for 'Chittagong', it could well be Rakeysh's predicament over anyone else to strike a fine balance between supporting Manoj's film and also keeping his association intact with Bachchans.
