Roger Federer has proved that he is still in his best form at 36 years with his record eighth Wimbledon win, making it a total 19 Grand Slam wins in his kitty.

Cheered on by crowds, the Swiss champion overwhelmed Croatian Marin Cilic with a 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 win.

This is his second Grand Slam title this year after the Australian Open title earlier this year and makes Federer the oldest player with a winning streak, beating the record set by Arthur Ashe, who won a Wimbledon at 32 years.

An emotional Federer`s told reporters, "I always believed that I could maybe come back and do it again. And if you believe, you can go really, really far in your life, and I did that."
