Angelika Graswald was charged with second degree murder and manslaughter three weeks after her fiancé's body was recovered from the Hudson River. The couple were on a kayaking trip in April 2015, and fiancé Vince Viafore's boat capsized.

The 37-year-old initially pleased not guilty to all charges, but has now come to an understanding with the prosecutors and now pleads guilty to negligent homicide. She said that she never intended to kill Viafore but that she should have foreseen the dangers of being on the Hudson that fatal day. The decision was reached after consulting with the deceased'd family and ensures that the woman is held liable for her deeds.
