Woman raped by Uber driver in India files lawsuit

An American woman raped by an Uber driver in India has filed a lawsuit against the company and three others. The lawsuit comes in the wake of the information that her medical records were obtained by Uber executives and mishandled.

This is the latest blow to Uber in sexual harassment cases filed by passengers and former employees. The victim, a Jane Doe from Texas, has decided to take the company to task after some Uber executives revealed that they had believed her rape complaint to be a ploy by competitors. The complainant`s lawyer said that rape denial was another form of the gender discrimination ingrained at Uber`s work culture.
