With the opening weekend of 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2' not really setting the box office on fire, there was a scare factor around the film nose-diving in the weekdays.

Fortunately for the makers, the results weren't as bad as it seemed back then as the days to follow were reasonably okay. Yes, it was 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' which was still earning better but the Deol flick managed to keep it's head over the water.

Well, just about, since at the end of the first week, the collections were around 35 crores which are on the same lines as what 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' had gathered two years back.

However, difference between the two films lies in the overall word of mouth. Part one was largely appreciated while part two is mainly enjoying patronage in single screens.

With quite a few number of films arriving week after week from this point on, 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2' is en route to a quicker exit than what one anticipated till the days of its release. Though 40 crores would be crossed now, the lifetime collections would just about manage to bring the film to a coverage status.

One now looks forward to how Deols plan their films from this point on. The trio along with Sangeeth Sivan are slated to kick-start their 'Cheers' in September this year. On the other hand there are also talks of Sunny's 'Ghayal Returns' finally going on floors.

Bobby hasn't signed any film other than 'Cheers' yet and it would be interesting to see what he picks up next. Ditto for Dharmendra who may well be seen primarily in those movies which are being made by his home production.
