What is it?
After `Wake Sid', director Ayan Mukerji yet again takes on a journey of youth and their carefree days before they take on life responsibilities and relationships.
If life is about dreams, ambition, hope, disappointments, options, eagerness, fear, travel, the first day at work, sleepless nights, family, laughter, music, dance, friendship and love, then Ayan Mukerji's next `Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' is a spirited cocktail of all these. According to the director, a person's journey from the age of 21 to 30 has shades of all kinds. But there's something about one's first tryst with adulthood, which is particularly powerful.
The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur, is a story of four characters in their youth. From their carefree laughter, as they set off on a holiday together during their college days, to the bittersweet tears as they watch the first of their bunch getting married, the movie is an effort to showcase the spirit of their lives.
Produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions, the film also has Madhuri Dixit in a special number.
The Storyline
`Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' is the story of the relationship between two characters, Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) and Naina (Deepika Padukone), at two separate but defining times in their lives... First, when they are just out of college and standing on the crossroads of multiple decisions that will shape who and what they become... and then later on, in their late-twenties when they meet again, holding on to certain fulfilled and certain unfulfilled dreams, at a crossroads of another nature this time...
How these two characters affect, change, befriend and eventually fall in love with each other is the journey the film aspires to take us on...
