A baboon tampered with a power station in Linvingstone near Victoria Falls in Zambia, causing a five-hour power cut in the nearby tourist town.

The 108 megawatt power station is owned by Zesco Ltd, which said nearly 40,000 were affected.

The baboon was taken to wildlife officers for treatment as it received an electric shock. Despite the proximity to a national park, it is rare for animals to err into the plant.
