The debut director Abhay Chandra second son of veteran journalist and actor Sureschandra flowing with ideas in fact is on ‘Ideology and Mythology’ in this film ‘Java’.

Abhay Chandra with double degree (Bio Tech Engineering and MBA in Project Management) to his credit (wish of his mother) developed habit of watching two films a day right from young age and he used to discuss with his learned father Sureschandra. When Abhay Chandra narrated the concept – you pay for your sins here, it sounded very interesting.

Abhay Chandra list out ten highlights of his first film ‘Java’ in a telephonic chat –

·         Like in Hollywood less investment and more returns was his first theory. He gives the examples of The Conjuring and Insidious films.

·         The background score for film like ‘Java’ should slowly take up the mood of the audience. In this case he sought the help of his elder brother Vinay Chandra. Violin and string instruments are used much in the background score.

·         On the theory of ‘Karma’ Abhay Chandra has made it clear that every sin in this world by human being has to pay penalty in this birth. There is reference of Lord Shiva and Lord Yama.

·         There are seven characters in this film with five locked in one location. Sai Kumar plays the key role and while unraveling each character he jumps in to that character.

·         Dialogue king and actor of over 200 films Saikumar has various shades and his understanding holds a mirror.

·         To remain very strict to the budget the new talents have been roped in. One from state and another rugged youth to remain very natural to the roles are part of seven characters.

·         Continuing his chat Abhay Chandra disclosed that he did not want everyone to be perfect in delivering their roles. When they do what they know without intervention it is a sign of natural performance. When one actor is prepared or corrected on the sets the natural feel misses is his feeling.

·         All seven characters performance is one take in the film and ‘Java’ is tucked with suspense, thrill and horror elements.

·         Location for shoot was Chickmagalur and the main spot has no connectivity to anyone for four kilometers. In the dense forest shooting was very tough and we could capture natural mood for the film.

·         After 10 minutes the film ‘Java’ is edge of the seat cinema. The audience would go into the story and screenplay of the film. Grip is not missed out and it will be a new experience after watching ‘Java’ says confident looking director Abhay Chandra.
