After 'Thagappansamy', director Siva Shanmugam is busy churning out 'Dindigul Sarathy' in which Karunas plays the hero, for the first time.

'A major portion of the shooting has been completed', according to the director. 'The movie is a remake of the Malayalam hit 'Vadakku Nokki Eyanthiram' with Srinivas and Parvati in the lead roles. The Tamil version is made in such a way that it doesn't spoil the essence of the original'.

'I have put in all the necessary ingredients to make it a hit at the box-office. Karunas is the hero and the complexities that are likely to arise when a dark skinned man marries a fair, beautiful girl are captured humorously. Sridevika plays the female lead. I have woven sentiment and sacrifice into the screenplay so that the entire family can sit together and watch the film.'

The film is produced by Air Media Network and the music is to be scored by Dina. Saranya, Livingstone, Venniradai Murthy, Shanmugarajan, Manobala, M.S. Bhaskar, Mayil Samy, Periyar Dasan and Chitibabu are doing important roles. The dialogue is written by Ramnath and the stunts are choreographed by Super Subbarayan.
