In an industry where cut throat competition is the call of the day and actors stealing not just a moment but an entire scene from colleagues is a norm, Mahakshay Chakravorty had a huge surprise in store for him during the shoot of 'Loot'. Despite the fact that the comic entertainer is a multi starrer with veterans like Govinda and Suniel Shetty filling the frames, Mahakshay claims that he could afford a role equal to them while working in the film.

"Along with 'anna' (Suniel Shetty), Govinda and Javed Jaffrey, I am the other leading man in the film. I guess for any actor to be in the same frame as them is a great deal. On the other hand here I was doing a full film with them and received all the attention that could have made any newcomer proud. Frankly, I had everything to 'loot' here. Pun intended," smiles Mahakshay whose 'Haunted' was one of the first clean hits of 2011.

On questioned whether he is keeping his fingers crossed and praying for the success of the film so that it makes it a double bill for him this year, Mahakshay says, "There is so much that has gone into making this film and now that it is releasing, we are quite excited about its prospects. Even though we shot for it around a couple of years ago, it won't look stale or old. It had a very fresh subject that has not been exploited yet and the lovers of 'masala' flicks would really appreciate the film."

'Loot' releases this Friday.
