After 'Hello', '3 Idiots', 'Kai Po Che' and '2 States', Chetan Bhagat's next book 'Half Girlfriend' is going to take off on big screen. And the film which will have a passionate love story will be directed by none other than filmmaker Mohit Suri, who recently delivered a hit recently with 'Ek Villain' and known for giving heart touching romances earlier.

The film's story, which is adapted from 'Half Girlfriend', is about a Bihari boy, Madhav, who falls in love with a girl, Riya. The two come from extreme background, as in Madhav doesn't speak English while Riya does. Likewise, Madhav wants to be in a relationship, Riya doesn't and instead wanted friendship. Riya then comes to on a compromise, that is, to be his half girlfriend.

As per sources, the untitled project will have young cast since it's going to have a young romantic story and will be shot in Bihar, Delhi and New York.

It is said that Suri became emotional while reading the manuscript and was moved to tears in couple of places. In fact he was so moved that he decided to co-produce the film with Bhagat as well as direct it.

Talking about the association Mohit stated in an interview that he liked it because of the simplicity and the identifiability with the story. "It's not a love story for perfect people, but it's about how normal people fall in love and how we hurt people whom we love the most. The story is so simple and yet I found myself crying in two places."

The film is expected to go on floors in 2015 once Mohit wraps up the work of his next, titled 'Humari Adhuri Kahani' and the remake of 'Intouchables'. Well we wonder who will be the lead pair in this one.....

Incidentally Chetan Bhagat had written the script of the recent superhit Salman Khan starrer 'Kick'.
