Call it a coincidence but it’s a fact that this fortnight sees the release of as many as 5 movies bearing English titles. But what's so surprising about that? Well, each of them are actually Hindi movies.

Picture this - yesterday saw the release of 'Holiday' and 'Mixed Doubles'. Both being multiplex fares, the former is a feel good movie set in Goa and stars Dino Morea and Onjolee Nair in a lead role.

On the other hand, the latter stars actors like Ranveer Shourie, Konkana Sen, Rajat Kapoor and Koel Purie. With a starcast like this, movie's theme [wife swapping], a multiplex look and the director like Rajat Kapoor at the helm, ithe assumption all over is that it is an English movie. But that is far from the fact as it is a movie in 'shuddh-hindustani bhaasha' and is set in Mumbai.

Now let's look at the releases of next week. The most known of them all is 'Fight Club - Members Only', an alleged remake of Brad Pitt's 'Fight Club'. One of the biggest multistarrers to arrive this year, this action packed popcorn movie has everything in Hindi. And yes, that includes hit songs like 'Chorre Ki Baatein' and 'Yeh Khuda' too!

The other release is 'Mr. 100% - The Real Player', a movie about the life of a gigolo [male prostitute]. Again, with a title and a theme like this, one would have expected an English fare but that's not the case to be as actors like Irrfan Khan, Aryan Vaid, Mahima Chaudhary and Payal Rohatgi come together for this adult drama.

If things go well for Girija Shankar, then his long in the waiting 'Banana Brothers' too may see the light of the day in the coming week. Starring Anupam Kher in the lead role, it is a light hearted movie about the lives of NRIs in USA. A 'crossover' movie of sorts, it is at maximum a Hinglish movie, but don't expect a core English outing there too!
