Shekhar Kapoor has done Indian Film Industry proud with ‘Bandit Queen’ and ‘Elizabeth’. But his idleness since then and in spite of making several announcements, getting no work done hasn’t earned him too many admirers. Now, he has resorted to bickering on non-issues.

A prime example to this effect is his alleged spat with Aditya Chopra over the title of Yash Raj Banners’ next venture ‘Tara Rum Pum Pum’ being directed by ‘Salaam Namaste’ director Sidharth Anand. Kapoor had planned to launch Preity Zinta with a musical by the same title with music by A R Rahman. But like many of his other films (That never got made), this one was shelved too. Apparently he even had a meeting with Yash and Aditya Chopra urging them not to use his title. Well, the smart alec producer Aditya Chopra went a step further and deleted a ‘Pum’ from the title. Now, the title stands ‘Tara Rum Pum’. No one can have issues on that one.

It’s time Shekhar Kapoor actually gave a solid proof of his genius yet again. Mere talking or shadow hunting won’t do his admirers much good.
