Imtiaz Ali's forthcoming Shahid Kapur-Kareena Kapoor starrer, "Jab We Met" boasts of being shot in some of the most plush and scenic North-Indian locales.

We have news that it is one of the few movies to have been shot in the fierce but world-renowned Rohtang Pass in the Himalayas, at a height of 13,400 sq ft above sea level.

A portion of the exquisite 'Yeh Ishq' song picturised on Shahid and Kareena (visible in the promos) has been captured in the snow-laden locales of Rohtang. Imtiaz and his crew discovered that location after a fortnight of intense location scouting. Because of the sub-zero temperature, four members of the unit (including one of the assistant directors) collapsed on the first day, forcing the unit to cancel shooting plans.

However, on Shahid's insistence that the shots be captured at the Pass, the following day a smaller team fearlessly went out in heavy woolens and eventually snapped some brilliant visuals for the track.

Confirms Imtiaz, "We weren't happy with some of the initial locations and drove northwards from Manali in search of better ones. When we finally stumbled upon this one we knew we had to shoot here. Despite the frightfully cold weather, we managed well. Of course, a lot of sweaters, woolen caps and mittens were hired for everyone from the local shops. It was an experience well worth its while."

"Jab We Met" releases worldwide on October 25 and is being distributed overseas by Studio 18.
