Part I of Ram Gopal Varma's most ambitious project till date, 'Rakta Charitra' is up for release this Friday. The film is extra special for the maverick film maker since it is not just a story close to his heart but also brings him back with his protégé Vivek Oberoi whom he had launched years back in 'Company'.

"Whatever experience that Vivek has gained in last so many years, it is quite visible that he has become stronger and understanding towards cinema," says Ramu when quizzed about the difference that he saw in Vivek's approach towards acting over the years gone by, "He has become far more mature towards his performance now. He has played the character of Paritala Ravi fabulously."

Now that the film is pretty much being looked as Vivek's re-launch, does Ramu feel that the young actor has mellowed down?

"Well, I don't know whether it would be right to say that he has 'mellowed down' or not", says Ramu after a pause, "He was quite passionate though about giving his entire attention towards making this film work. All through the filming, he was so much into the character even when the camera wasn't rolling. I could see that this is one character for which he gave his all."

With the mentor sounding so positively about his find, one does tend to believe that 'Rakta Charitra' may indeed turn out to be that special film waiting to be explored.
