Buzz is that Ajay Devgn has been roped in for Neeraj Pandey’s forthcoming project, titled ‘Special Chabbis’.

Remember, we had already mentioned about this film, which was then given to Abhishek Bachchan? Well, as things didn’t work as planned and the production team signed on Ajay instead, sources revealed. The director had various options for the lead’s role but finally settled on Devgn, an actor whom he always admire.

Besides Ajay, the film said to include an ensemble cast and once everything is finalised the project will go on floors early next year.

‘Special Chabbis’ is a story inspired from real-life incident, an infamous robbery which happened in 1987. It’s about how a man along with 26 accomplices, posing as Income Tax officials, smartly do away with several gold pieces from a noted jewellery store in Mumbai.

Neeraj Pandey bagged critical acclaims for ‘A Wednesday’, starring Anupam Kher and Naseerruddin Shah. Let’s see how the director impresses us this time….
