Despite a largely unsung release, 'Paan Singh Tomar' has managed to find very good appreciation for itself. While critical reception to the film has been out and out positive, even audience word of mouth has been quite heartening. Though on it's opening Friday the footfalls weren't particularly pleasing, there was escalation over the weekend, hence giving Irrfan Khan a good enough reason to sing praises for his director Tigmanshu Dhulia all over again.

"I am sure that I want to be there in every film that Tigmanshu makes from here. Okay, so he has roped me in for films like 'Haasil', 'Charas', 'Paan Singh Tomar' and 'Saheb Biwi aur Gangster 2'. However it is high time that I ask him to draw a contract with me now," quips Irrfan who is seeing exceptional acclaim coming his way for his bravura act as Paan Singh Tomar.

"I guess once I become much more commercially viable that I can demand for a director and get him, I would definitely bring in Tigmanshu much more often," Irrfan gets serious here, "When you become a 50 crores worth actor, you can at least name a director for yourself. It is a different matter though that at times the director may say ki mujhe iske saath kaam nahi karna. Still comparatively you are in a better off situation at least."
