After ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’, director Maneesh Sharma had started on with his next directorial outing when he met with a roadblock.

To be produced by Yash Raj Films, the untitled film was originally scheduled to go on floor this September.

However, the film’s lead hero Shahid Kapoor opted out of the project.

Both Maneesh and Jaideep Sahni, who has written the story and screenplay, along with Aditya Chopra, have taken a creative decision to include lip-sync songs, which were earlier not part of the film.

Reason behind this unfortunate fallout is that Shahid had to drop the project owing to his other commitments.

With three other projects back to back, Shahid is not able to readjust his dates to accommodate the revised schedule.

Maneesh, speaking on behalf of both Jaideep and himself, said: "Both Jaideep and I have decided to bring in a couple of lip-sync songs which will need to be recorded before we can go on floor.

However, it is sad that Shahid has understandably had to opt out because of this delay given his packed schedule going forward."

Guess it will be quite some time before Maneesh finds his hero and start with his third venture...
