In support to a new talent and promote social message, Khiladi Akshay Kumar has turned his attention in new direction…

The Action King is said to have produced a documentary 'White Knight', directed by Aarti Shrivastava. Highlighting the effects of global warming, the documentary is about Leh based Chewang Norphel and his innovative idea of making artificial glaciers to conserve water for those living in high altitude areas. As a matter of fact, Chewang is reported to be the only man in the world to create such glaciers. “Due to global warming, natural glaciers melt faster. As a result, people living in high altitudes face acute water crisis till new glaciers are formed. That's when Chewang started conserving water to make artificial glaciers for them,” explained Akshay in an interview to sources.

Interestingly, ‘White Knight’ has made rounds at several international film festivals among which are South Asian International Film Festival in Canada and the Indian Film Festival in Houston.

Impressed with Chewang’s efforts and happy with the response that ‘White Knight’ garnered at film festivals, Akshay said further, “This is a global issue. It needs attention of all the countries facing this problem. We really hope that this idea gets proper attention and is replicated globally."
