‘Shankar IPS’ facing court strictures for objectionable scenes taken away from theatres in the second week of its release suffered Rs.40 lakhs loss in net collection says eminent writer and director MS Ramesh.

Explaining the bad luck, director MS Ramesh stated the first week net share for the producer K Manju of Bindusri Films is Rs.2.25 crores and when the film is rocking in the box office in the second week the city civil court passed an order to stop the screening of the film.

Director Ramesh and producer K Manju muted the objectionable dialogues between a lawyer and cop (played by Rangayana Raghu and Vijay) and came before the city civil court and apologized for what was shown in the film.

Justice Satish Singh on Monday evening directed the members of advocates association that raised the objection to watch the film again. As a result the ‘Shankar IPS’ was screened at GM Rejoyz, Malleswaram on Monday evening.

Now the decks are cleared. K.Manju and MS Ramesh producer and director of the film respectively got clean chit after muting some of the scenes for which objections were raised.
