Give me off beat films – Ganesh

At the inauguration of second quarter of the ‘Chitravarsha’, the new movement started by Chitrasamooha headed by Dr Girish Kasaravalli, on last Saturday evening the Golden star of Kannada cinema Ganesh addressing the mammoth attendance at Suchitra Film Society said he is interested in acting in off beat and art films. “Consider me for one of the films”, he called upon the off beat film makers.

As the start of second quarter beginning film was ‘Mungaru Male’ Ganesh came to the inaugural evening to spend sometime with bigwigs of the Kannada cinema industry.

Inaugurating the second quarter of Chitravarsha the Kendra Sahitya Academy award winner Boluwar Mohammad Kuyi opined that remake films in Kannada are tolerable to some extent but not the dubbing of other languages films to Kannada. Present at the function KFCC president Basanthkumar Patil besides promising to get a separate theatres for off beat cinemas he would see to it that the dubbing is not going to be there in Kannada.

The films lined up on Saturday and Sunday at 6 pm show at Suchitra Film Society situated in Banashankeri II stage in Bangalore for next three months are – Mungaru Male, Moggina Jade, Preethi Prema Pranaya, Haru Hakkiyaneri, Naanu Gandhi, Dhuniya, Kote Chennaiah, Cyanide, Thaayi, Naayi Neralu, Thutturi, Amruthadaare and Mukhaputa.

Only the state, national awards and international film festival are screened in ‘Chitrasamooha’.
