There seems to be no notable releases at the box-office this week. With films which had hit the screens in the recent past too failing to make any big impact, 'Mankatha' is still holding the top position, with 'Engaeyum Eppothum' closely following it.

"Though some interesting movies and meaningful attempts got released in the past few weeks, they failed to click big due to various reasons. So Mankatha is strong even after six weeks after its release. So is Engaeyum Eppothum," says a trade analyst.

'Mankatha', the 50th film of Ajith, was directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine Movies. Released by Sun Pictures, it is turning out to be the biggest hit of the year.

'Engaeyum Eppothum', directed by debutant Saravanan, is the maiden production venture of AR Murugadoss, in association with Fox Star Studios. With Jai, Sharvanand, Anjali and Ananya in lead roles, its box-office reports are incredible and the film can be termed as a sleeper hit.

Interestingly, 'Ko', the first real big hit of the year, successfully completed 175 days in the box-office this week...
