Mass marriage for 'Devi'

A mass marriage was arranged recently at Janapada Loka near Ramanagaram by Sri Dhaneshwari Films for the film 'Sri Dhanamma Devi' the 12th century revolutionary reformer. As young Dhanamma demands for marriage for all her age group in the village her parents arrange for a mass marriage. That was the vision towards downtrodden people in the society of Dhanamma. Anu Prabhakar playing the title role and Shivadwaj took part in the mass marriage that was attended by twenty members decked in marriage costume.

Explaining the reformations made by Dhanamma Devi in the 12th century director Chindodi Bangaresh said he wanted for two and half years to get the right producer A.S.Patil for this film. From the proceeds of this film producer Patil is reinvesting on films on unsung 'Sharana Sahitya' leaders.

Veteran actor K.S.L.Swamee (Ravee) is playing the mentor role to Dhanamma Devi. Theatre artist Yashwanth Sardeshpande is playing a blind thinker. Jayanthi, Pramila Joshai, Chaitra Hallikere, Doddanna, Srinivasamurthy, Ramakrishna are also in important roles.

Hamsalekha has tuned songs picking from the famous 'Vachanas'. B.S.Basavaraj and Manjunath are doing the camera for this periodic film.
