The entire Kannada film industry is sitting on a 'protest fast' on Friday 4th April 2008 in front of busy traffic area Town Hall in Bangalore from 10 am to 5 pm. The call for this is given by the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to protest the attributions made by Tamil Nadu chief minister M.Karunanidhi in the Hogenakkal issue. There will be no film activity in Bangalore in the 'Dharna' time.

The Kannada film industry has also supported the bundh call given for 10th April by Kannada Horata Samithi protesting against the TN CM statements. There will be no film activity on that day also said Sa.Ra.Govindu.

The cable operators in Karnataka will switch off the Tamil channels on 10th of April from morning 6 am to 6 pm supporting the stand of Karnataka.
