'Karanji' musical treat

Producer N.M.Suresh irrespective of failure or success is forging ahead in making films. He has just finished 'Gandhi Smiles' a different type of Kannada cinema, announced a film on seven wonders of the world starring Shivarajakumar – Cheluveye Ninna Nodalu' and now started a quickie 'Karanji' starring Vijaya Raghavendra and Bollywood actress Gauri Karnik (who figured in 'Sur') in the direction of debutant Sridhar. Veera Samarth is scoring music for seven songs and six bits in the film. This film went on the floors at Nandi Teertha temple in Malleswaram on 27th of April.

This is a musical film in which Vijaya Raghavendra plays the head of a music band. He is a guitar player and heroine Gauri Karnik is a dominant singer in the film. In the love story interspersed 'Karanji' the different musical tradition of Karnataka is focused with poems from Santa Shishunala Sharief, Purandara Dasa, T.P.Kailasam Kolike Ranga song, folk songs etc says Sridhar highlighting on the contents of his maiden film. Sridhar has worked as script associate television and ad films director in the past.

Veera Samarth a boy from Bidar who has worked with ace composers and singers Ravindra Jain, Suresh Wadkar, Ismail Durbar, Shuba Mudgal was playing the Tamboora instrument in Pandit Bhimsen Joshi recitals. He intends to give right treatment to the rich lyrics with a classical touch. This will be the year's best music of a film says the confident Veera Samarth.

Cameraman Guruprasad with FTI diploma has worked in Mumbai for quite some time and joined the Kannada film scene with his friend Santosh Rai Pathaje in films like Savi Savi Nenapu and Telugu film Andamaina Mansulu. He is now independently handling the camera.
