Very few interested in the film business did realize that Asin, the South Indian heroine was the same girl who made her debut with the Sathyan Anthikkad directed Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka.
She has been making rave reviews in Kollywood and Tollywood and had acted with top Telugu actors like Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna and Tamil actors like Ajith, Vijay and Vikram.
She even has a big fan fare in the state, where she was studying till recently in a college in central Kerala.
Asin Thottungal, as her original name goes, is now back to where she has all started.
After inscribing her name in Telugu and Tamil, she is now going to act with Mohanlal in a new Malayalam film titled Karthika Thirunal Karthikeyan.
The film directed by T S Sureshbabu will also feature current Kollywood glamour girl Namitha, also in the lead. The film is expected to make a release by the mid of 2007.
