Yesterday’s match between England and Afghanistan was truly what can be described as one of its kind. The England Captain let his bat do the talking with a massive score of 148 from just 71 balls at a strike rate of 208.45. But Eoin Morgan was dropped when he was on just 28 from 25 balls off Rashid Khan’s bowling. Whether that catch would have changed the result of the game we don’t know, but it was still exhilarating to see Morgan back in full form again.

Another time that Morgan almost got out was when Afghanistan Captain Gulbadin Naib held him while he was running, trying to get him run out. This happened in the 32nd over. Morgan dropped his bat and Naib picked it up and gave it to him. Thankfully it was all a joke and the English batsman didn’t pay much attention to the incident but was also smiling.

After that though is when he started his churning out the runs and at what speed. It is doubtful whether the new record he has set will be broken soon, but we know that this performance will never be forgotten.
