Today marks the first year death anniversary of the legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam and his longtime friend Ulagha Nayagan Kamal Haasan shares some throwback pictures of them with a heartfelt note.

SP Balasubrahmanyam, who underwent treatment at a private hospital in Chennai after testing positive for COVID-19 during the first week of August last year, passed away on September 25, 2020, of cardio-respiratory arrest after over a month-long hospitalization and a long battle with health complications following the coronavirus infection.

Sharing a couple of pictures of himself with SP Balasubramaniam, actor Kamal Haasan posted in Tamil, which translates to, "The person who is intimately involved in something will become that itself. My brother Balu adopted his life just to sing. That's why he has turned into a voice. He had left his body physically, but stays with us forever."

According to some sources, SPB holds the Guinness World Record for recording the highest number of songs by a singer with over 40,000 songs. Many fans and celebrity friends of SBP are paying tribute to this legend by trending hashtags #SPBalasubrahmanyam and #SPB on social media since early morning.
