Simran's comeback in style

The news that popular actress Simran is staging a comeback to films has gone down well with her die-hard fans. She will be making a comeback in ‘Kicha Vayadhu 16’ which has Jai Akash and ‘Boys’ fame Manikandan as the supporting cast, directed by Rajagopal.

Considered a glamour doll of Kollywood, Simran was a household name in Kollywood, leaving her mark in Telugu too. Post marital bliss, her announcement to leave the industry was on expected lines. The petite actress, who left her indelible mark in ‘Vaali’ said she was happy to be back in the fray.

'I had a long fruitful innings in the chosen world of mine. My biggest strength was my fans. No way I could have refused the fine script narrated by director Rajagopal. I have decided to give it a try. Meaningful scripts always had a place in my dictionary.’

Considered to be an excellent co-star, the actress with the ability to carry the film on her shoulders said she is committed to do good roles, now that her re-entry has been made. It had been a delight working in Tamil industry known for its perfection.’

Talking of his role, Simran said ‘It has the right mix of glamour and emotions. I am prepared to fight my way back and re-establish myself as numero uno actress again’.

Director Rajagopal says, ‘when I came to know that Simran was keen on making a comeback in Kollywood, I went to Mumbai and narrated the script to her. She was so impressed with it that she immediately gave a go-ahead.’

Simran, who made her debut in Once More opposite Vijay went to establish herself in Tamil filmdom with successive hits like VIP, Thullatha Manamum Thullum, Nerrukku Ner, Vaali, Priyamanavale, Pammal K Sambandham, Panchatantiram, Natpukkaga and so on. Her last film before her wedding, New (released recently) also fared well at the box-office.

On Kicha Vayadhu 16, Rajagopal says, ‘it’s a heroine-oriented movie that dwells on romance between three- Simran, Jai Akash and Manikandan’.

Dhina scores the music with Ashok Selva handling the cinematography and editing by Srinivas.

The star-cast includes Vaiyapuri, Pandu, T P Gajendran and Pandu.

The shooting for the film is on and scheduled for a release early next year.
