Born as Karthika in Thrissur, Bhavana made her silver screen debut in Malayalam film ‘Nammal’. The big success of the film got her many more offer in the Malluwood industry. She had acted in 20 Malayalam films including cameo appearances in a short span of three years.

Her acting talent was identified by director Myskin who cast her as the lead heroin in his debut film ‘Chithiram Pesudhadi’. This was her Tamil debut with which Bhavana became the sweet heart of Tamil audiences and she went on to act with young heroes like Bharath, Madhavan, Jeyam Ravi, Jiiva and many others. She acted as Ajith’s heroine in ‘Asal’ that released in 2010. The film’s box office failure paved way to the exit of the actress from Tamil film industry. However Bhavana kept getting offers from the film industries of other south Indian languages. Even today she remains a leading heroine in Kannada and Malayalam film industries.
