From small screen to silver screen, the journey of Sivakarthikeyan has been arduous and patient. So when it came to choosing a project, he was ultra careful about its nature. There is no questioning the truth that Siva is undoubtedly one among the top actors. 'Maan Karate' added another feather to his cap, and he had to be very particular about the choices he made, going forth, as it would directly impact his acting future.

It was at this time that director RS Durai, who was the mastermind behind 'Ethir Neechal' approached Sivakarthikeyan with the script of 'Taana'. Being fresh lad in tinsel town, Siva was in two minds to go for the subject, as it would picture him as a cop. Siva confesses that he was sceptical about taking up the cop role, as it would impact the rest of his acting career. But the reason he however went forward is his father. Sivakarthikeyan considers his father his hero, who was a police officer in Trichy. This motivated him to go ahead with the role and he has been shooting at a very good pace with Sri Divya. Music for 'Taana' is composed by Anirudh and the film is produced by Wunderbar Films.
