Sure, it was on the cards.

When Sathyaraj made spoof of the Tamil industry and its heroes, he could not have expected to go scot free.

Sathyaraj's Maha Nadigan is coming in for criticism from expected quarters and not so expected ones.

Vijayaknth, the Captain of the industry, who was also ridiculed in the film, is miffed. He minces no words while criticizing the movie.

"Being a member of film fraternity, it's wrong on the part of Sathyaraj to make fun at the filmdom itself", Vijayakanth said.

Sathyaraj himself is identified by the masses as an actor. He has brought disrepute to the industry, Vijayakanth added. "It is tantamount to a self-goal".

Meanwhile, Vijayakanth's next movie Perarasan went to floors Wednesday. Directed by debutant Udhayan, Vijayakanth plays a CBI officer in the movie. Prakash Raj is also in the cast and a Kolkata girl makes her debut as a heroine.

The movie would be released this April and would compete with Anniyan, Chandramukhi, Mumbai Express, Sachin and God Father at the box office.
