Simbu is the man about town after the unexpected success of Manmathan.

He has been making some daring statements in the aftermath of that film.

Just sample this one: "I love to experiment my movies and Manmathan has emboldened me to try my hand in playing dual roles which is a difficult task on screen".

The actor who celebrated his birthday in Chennai Thursday, said, "though many expected my Manmathan to fade away at the box office, it has gone on to make it big".

"The dual role played by me has been appreciated well. In S J Suryah's A/C too I play a dual role. My forthcoming movie Thotti Jaya too portray me in a different platform altogether", he says.

But what of the criticisms against him?

"As long as an actor keeps winning, criticisms don't affect him. Though I have grown watching my father in close quarters, I am not influenced by his style in making films. My way of approach is different from his. In the coming years, I want to establish myself as an actor who can be relied up on to play any role with ease besides as a director who can handle any theme with elan".

Tall talk indeed for a growing actor.
